On Facebook

I have been meddling around Facebook for the past few days after I successfully fished out some long-lost JC friends from there =) I don't have friendster, so I wont be making any comparison between the two. After these few days I think I can see why Facebook can be a time sink. With all kinds of interesting, funny, crappy apps, there are quite a handful to explore! I added the facebook developer app and had some fun messing around with a "hello world" app. Heh. But I am just gonna keep minimal apps and that's it. Just a tool for me to keep in contact with my friends.

STV Fishing Saga

I am not a very patient person, so I have never, despite playing WoW for more than two years, fully explored the fishing profession.

Until today, when I decided to make time to go to STV at gametime 2pm (Oceanic server, so its about 11am SGT). Prior to today, I read up on the Fishing contest and what are the rewards for being the first to submit 40 Speckled tastyfish.

When I realised that the minimum fishing skill required in Outlands is way over 300, and to guarantee a catch you have to have a skill of 500+, I was motivated to try to win the prize, the best fishing rod in the game.

And since great minds think alike, Horde and Alliance likewise, I found myself in quite a bit of PVP battles along the Savage Coast.

Trust me, it is no fun at all to be caught in the midst of this all when your best weapon on hand is a fishing rod =/

When I took the trouble to scout out the coast, placed my hearthstone in Booty Bay, trained my skill so that I would have guaranteed catches in STV, the last thing that I want is having to corpse run N times because the allys (meaning the Alliance, the enemy) are eyeing the same pools of fish too. And worst still, they have bodyguards. A level 65 was fishing and a level 70 mage helping her to clear the horde (e.g. me). Imagine fishing halfway and got polymorphed. (And I was here first...) What's a single poor warlock holding a darn fishing rod to do but to try and die in the most graceful way?

Urgh.

Anyway, the winner was an Alliance, and he won 25 mins later after the contest started. I was only having 16 fishes then. He had 40.

OMG.

Think I will try another tactic next Sunday. Go further south, and try my luck. But again, I might just go back to Outlands, train myself to 70 first and then come back.

EDIT:
This post was written when Oyssria was still not 70 yet. However, things remain the same even after she became 70. STV, you are such a hateful place! /spit

CISA Admission Ticket

/gasp

Finally, the one thing that reminds me of my upcoming examination - the admission ticket. They have emailed me a softcopy and will be sending the hardcopy to my home soon. Reading the email has instilled in me the sense of urgency that I needed in order to start revising seriously.

Since my uni days, I have been the 死到临头 then study type. Not enough motivation to drive me otherwise, hehe. I still remember how I pia my honours year project until 4am and submit the damn thing at 8am. One of the most gan chiong moment in my life that I will never forget...

Having a short attention span means that I will quickly move on to some other (usually more fun) stuff. Ask me to do something boring, and I will wander off when my playful nature manifests itself. =P

Anyway, I think I better start reading soon. A lot of my lab mates are going for this exam too! It will be grand ultimate paiseh if I fail CISA.... Nonono my "female ego" definitely do not allow this to happen!

Jia You! ^.^

The Kranji Guy

I saw The Kranji Guy today in MRT again. I gave him this nick because I will see him everyday on the train, dozing off at the same seat and getting off at the Kranji stop.

I aimed for a particular carriage of the train so that when I alight at Clementi, the escalator is just up front. I supposed he is doing the same if he sits in the same carriage and same seat (the one nearest to the door) everyday.

He is about early 30ish, messy hair, thick eyebrows, and fleshy/meaty(?) face. His ultra black hair + eyebrows is really a stark contrast with his pale complexion. Fairly comical, I guess. And always in his light cyan-ish uniform, jeans and a pair of trackshoes. Judging from how he is already zzzing when the train reached my station (Yishun), I guess he probably stepped into the train around AMK or Bishan stop.

Anyway, I have always been wondering: What's his job? Apart from knowing he is wearing a uniform, I dunno what he is working as. Hahaha I know I am damn kaypoh. Yeah. Hehe. Anyway, when he is around especially on those rare occasion when I can't get a seat, I will just hover around him and waiting for him to leave @ Kranji, which frankly is just a mere couple of stops away from Yishun, so I still get to sit for a big part of my journey. Heh. *grins*
